 Itinerary

1. Hotel Pickup & Welcome Briefing

Your guide meets you at the Marriott Hotel or your Georgetown accommodation. Enjoy a quick orientation as we begin our journey through the capital city.

2. Kingston Seawalls – Scenic Stop + Pastry Tasting

Time: ~25 minutes Enjoy the cool Atlantic breeze at the historic seawalls while sampling delicious local pastries paired with coffee, tea, or fruit juice. A brief history of the seawalls and their role in protecting Georgetown is shared. Tasting includes: Cheese rolls Pine tarts Salara or other local pastries

3. Umana Yana, “I Love Guyana” Sign & Turtle Monument

Time: ~20 minutes Visit one of Georgetown’s most symbolic cultural structures. Learn about its Indigenous origins, snap photos at the I Love Guyana sign, and explore the nearby Turtle Monument celebrating marine conservation.

4. Guyana Shop – Local Products & Snacks

Time: ~20 minutes Browse a curated collection of locally made products—from pepper sauces and cassava bread to cocoa sticks, honey, cassareep, aromatics, and artisanal snacks. Great opportunity for souvenirs and edible gifts.

5. Bourda Market Drive-Through & Exotic Fruit Sampling

Time: ~30 minutes Experience the energy of Georgetown’s largest fresh market. Your guide introduces you to the region’s most exotic fruits. Sampling may include: Starfruit Soursop Papaya Jamoon Golden apple Coconut water (fresh)

6. Street Food Stop – Iconic Guyanese Snacks

Time: ~25 minutes Taste some of Guyana’s most beloved street foods, freshly prepared. Typical tastings include: Eggballs with sour Pholourie with mango sour Channa or plantain chips

7. Botanical Gardens – Nature, History & Birdlife

Time: ~35 minutes Stroll through the lush gardens to see:

• The Victoria Amazonica (world’s largest water lily)
• The famous Kissing Bridge
• The historic Bandstand
• Parrots, macaws, herons, and other city birdlife

Learn about the gardens’ history and significance to Guyana’s biodiversity.

8. Local Guyanese Lunch

Time: ~40 minutes Enjoy a traditional lunch at a local restaurant. Dishes may include: Pepperpot (seasonal) Curry & roti Cook-up rice Fried fish & chips Coconut water or fresh juice (Vegetarian options available.)

9. National Park – Feed the Manatees

Time: ~20 minutes End your tour with a memorable visit to the peaceful manatees that live in the National Park’s ponds. Guests can feed them grass while learning about their behaviour and conservation.  Tour Drop-Off You are returned to your hotel with great memories, photos, and a taste of Georgetown’s culture and cuisine.
