🚐 Georgetown Pick-Up

Your adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel or selected location in Georgetown. Sit back and enjoy the scenic drive along the East Bank as we journey toward Parika.

☕ Snack Stop Along the Way

Before arriving at Parika, we make a short stop for light refreshments and snacks — the perfect opportunity to stretch, grab a local treat, and enjoy the atmosphere of Guyana’s countryside.

🚤 Depart Parika by Boat

Upon arrival at Parika Stelling, we board our boat and begin our journey along the mighty Essequibo River — the largest river in Guyana and one of the largest in South America.

🏛️ Stop 1 – Fort Zeelandia & Court of Policy

Our first stop is historic Fort Island, home to the famous Fort Zeelandia and the Court of Policy building.

Explore:

• The Dutch-built fort dating back to the 1700s
• Historic cannons and colonial architecture
• The Court of Policy building, one of Guyana’s oldest non-military structure
• Beautiful river views and island surroundings

Learn about the Dutch colonial era and the important role the Essequibo River played in Guyana’s history.

🌴 Stop 2 – Hog Island Windmill

We continue by boat to Hog Island, one of the largest islands on the Essequibo River.

Here we visit:

• The historic Dutch windmill ruins
• Quiet village surroundings
• Scenic island landscapes and river views

This stop offers a glimpse into the agricultural and colonial past of the Essequibo islands.

🍽️ Stop 3 – Leguan Island

Next, we journey to Leguan Island where we enjoy a delicious local lunch.

After lunch, we explore:

• The historic Anglican Church
• The famous sea walls protecting the island
• Village life and local culture

Take in the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful coastal scenery before beginning our return journey.

🚤 Return Journey to Parika

After a memorable day of exploration, we board the boat for our scenic ride back to Parika.

🚐 Return to Georgetown

Upon arrival in Parika, transportation will be waiting to transfer guests back to Georgetown.
