At Visit Guyana Tours, we understand that travel plans may change unexpectedly. Our cancellation and refund policy is designed to be fair while also ensuring that we can continue to support our staff, guides, and local partners.
1. General Conditions
- All cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to Visit Guyana Tours.
- Refunds (where applicable) will be made to the original form of payment.
- No-shows or failure to arrive for a booked tour are considered non-refundable.
2. Cancellation by Guest
- 15 days or more before the tour date – Full refund, less a 10% administrative fee.
- 8 – 14 days before the tour date – 50% refund of the total tour cost.
- 7 days or less before the tour date – No refund will be issued.
3. Cancellation by Visit Guyana Tour
- If Visit Guyana Tours cancels a tour due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., unsafe weather, operational issues, or minimum group size not met), guests will be offered either:
- A full refund, or
- The option to reschedule or transfer credit to another tour of equal value.
4. Weather & Force Majeure
- Tours operate rain or shine, unless weather conditions create unsafe situations.
- In the event of cancellations due to severe weather, natural disasters, strikes, government restrictions, or other force majeure events, Visit Guyana Tours will provide a full refund or credit.
5. Special Considerations
- Certain tours (such as flights to Kaieteur Falls or overnight stays) may have stricter cancellation policies due to third-party provider requirements. These will be clearly stated at the time of booking.
- Travel insurance is strongly recommended to cover unexpected changes.
6. Refund Processing
- Refunds will be processed within 10–14 business days after cancellation approval.
- Any bank or credit card processing fees are non-refundable.
